Action Steps
The initial step for this new client involved researching their industry to identify suitable online advertising channels. Based on this analysis, I determined that Google Ads was the optimal solution, and we began developing a comprehensive strategy. A specialized Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaign was clearly profitable, with a calculated 4X Return on Investment (ROI) based on comparing the client’s budget (Product Sales Acquisition Cost) with the cost of clicks and projected conversion rates.
Before launching the campaign, I prioritized setting up robust conversion tracking to accurately measure and optimize results. This included configuring Google Ads Conversion Tracking (for ‘Add To Cart,’ ‘Begin Checkout,’ and ‘Purchase’ events with value) and Google Ads Remarketing Tag, as recommended, all via Google Tag Manager. I also implemented GA4 E-commerce Tracking (including ‘Page View,’ ‘View Items,’ ‘Add To Cart,’ ‘View Cart,’ ‘Begin Checkout,’ ‘Add Payment Info,’ and ‘Purchase’ with value) through Google Tag Manager, along with setting up Microsoft Clarity for video reporting and general reporting.
The next phase involved extensive market research to understand competitors’ keyword usage, user search patterns, and local search engine interaction. Armed with this knowledge, I strategically developed the campaign’s promotional assets, including creating all necessary extensions (Sitelink, Callout, Structured Snippet), writing compelling descriptions and ad copy, and designing high-quality product images, along with incorporating the client’s logo and relevant videos. This research was crucial in deciding the best approach to promote the client’s services for this specific campaign.
Finally, adhering to the “golden rule of marketing”—”Never launch a marketing campaign without a dedicated landing page”—was paramount. I designed the landing page to directly align with relevant search queries, aiming to maximize the Conversion Rate (CR) for all incoming visitors. To ensure continuous improvement in the campaign’s CR, I implemented A/B testing on both the advertisements and the landing page.
