This tool shows what is set up and what is missing. I can fix it: clean GTM containers, accurate GA4 events, server-side tracking, Consent Mode v2 and conversion tracking you can trust.
A Google Tag Manager audit and a Google Analytics 4 audit on one page, with every result marked green, yellow or red.
Which GTM containers, GA4 measurement IDs and Google Ads IDs are on your site, where the snippet sits and whether GA4 is installed twice.
Every tag in your published container with its type, settings, firing triggers, exceptions, consent checks and status.
Page view, click, form, scroll, timer and custom event triggers with their conditions, plus every data layer key your container reads.
Enhanced measurement, key events, events created in GA4, Google signals, user-provided data and email redaction for your data stream.
Each GA4 event, its parameters and trigger, checked against GA4 naming rules, the 25-parameter limit and purchase requirements.
The GA4 ecommerce funnel from view_item to purchase, and whether product data is sent in the items parameter.
Google Ads conversion tags, Conversion Linker, enhanced conversions, conversion values and pixels such as Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and Microsoft.
Consent Mode v2 signals, consent defaults, your consent banner and the consent state sent with GA4 hits.
Three steps, under a minute, no sign-up and no access to your accounts.
Paste your website address, a GTM container ID such as GTM-XXXXXXX, or a GA4 measurement ID such as G-XXXXXXXXXX.
It loads the container and data stream settings that Google publishes for your IDs, reads your page code and asks Google to load the page once.
Every tag, event and setting is listed and marked good, warning or problem with a plain-English fix. Download the Excel report or have it emailed to you.
A tracking audit checks whether your website measures what it should. It looks at the tags in Google Tag Manager, the settings and events in Google Analytics 4, your advertising pixels and your consent setup, and finds what is missing, duplicated or broken.
Bad tracking costs money quietly. A duplicate page view inflates your traffic. A purchase event without a value hides your return on ad spend. A missing Conversion Linker loses Google Ads conversions. This free tracking audit tool finds those problems before they reach your reports.
Nothing is estimated or made up. If something cannot be read, the tool says so instead of guessing.
The GTM audit lists every tag with its type (Google Tag, GA4 Event, Google Ads Conversion, Custom HTML, Meta Pixel and so on), its settings, the triggers that fire it and the exceptions that block it. It flags tags with no trigger, tags that can never fire, retired Universal Analytics and Google Optimize tags, a missing Conversion Linker and too many Custom HTML tags.
Google only publishes tag names when a container has that option switched on. If yours does not, tags are labelled by type and settings, for example “GA4 Event – generate_lead”. To see your own names, upload a container export file.
The GA4 audit shows your measurement ID, which enhanced measurement events are on, which events are marked as key events, and every GA4 event tag with its parameters. It checks event names against GA4 rules: lowercase, underscores, under 40 characters, no reserved names and no more than 25 parameters per event.
A mobile app does not publish its tracking the way a website does, so no tool can scan an Android or iOS app from an app ID or SDK key. For apps, upload the Events report from your GA4 or Firebase property. The tool then checks every event your app sends against GA4 and Firebase naming rules and shows an app tracking checklist.
It shows what is set up. It cannot log in to your accounts, so it cannot confirm that each tag fires correctly for every visitor, that values are right or that data arrives in your reports. Those need GTM preview mode and GA4 DebugView. It reads published containers only, not unpublished workspace changes, and it does not read server-side GTM containers.
The standards this tool measures your tracking against.
| Check | Good | Needs fixing |
|---|---|---|
| GTM snippet | One container, high in the head, with noscript | Missing, in the body or duplicated |
| GA4 installation | One Google tag per property | Hardcoded gtag.js and a GTM tag together |
| Key events | Main lead or purchase event marked | No key events |
| Event names | Lowercase, underscores, under 40 characters | Spaces, capitals or reserved names |
| Purchase event | transaction_id, value, currency and items | No value or no transaction ID |
| Google Ads | Conversion Linker, values, enhanced conversions | No linker, no values |
| Triggers | Every active tag has a trigger | Tags that never fire |
| Old tags | None | Universal Analytics or Optimize tags left in |
| Consent Mode v2 | Defaults set before tags fire, with a banner | No consent signals |
| Page view | One per page load | Two or more per page load |
See what your website is tracking, in plain English, before you spend more on ads.
Check that conversions, values and consent are in place before you trust the numbers.

No. The tool reads the container and data stream files that Google already publishes for your GTM ID and GA4 measurement ID. These are the same files every visitor’s browser loads. It never logs in to your accounts.
Tags, triggers, variables, events and parameters are read directly from your live published container and your GA4 data stream settings, so they match what is really deployed. The tool does not estimate or invent results. What it cannot do is confirm that each tag fires correctly for every visitor. That needs a test in GTM preview mode and GA4 DebugView.
A website address, a Google Tag Manager ID such as GTM-XXXXXXX, or a GA4 measurement ID such as G-XXXXXXXXXX. With a website, the tool finds the IDs for you and also checks your page code and consent setup.
It shows every tag with its type, settings and triggers. Google only publishes tag names when that option is switched on in the container, so tags are often labelled by type and settings, for example “GA4 Event – generate_lead”. Upload a GTM container export file to see your own tag, trigger and variable names.
Green means the item is set up correctly. Yellow is a warning: it works but can lose data or cause confusion. Red is a problem that is missing, broken or double counting, and should be fixed first.
Your measurement ID, enhanced measurement events, key events, events created in GA4, Google signals, user-provided data collection, email redaction, event naming rules, parameter limits, purchase event requirements and ecommerce product data.
An app cannot be scanned from an app ID or SDK key, because apps do not publish their tracking. Upload the Events report from your GA4 or Firebase property instead. The tool checks every event name your app sends and shows an app tracking checklist.
Yes. It looks for consent default commands, consent templates in GTM, your consent banner, tags with extra consent checks and the consent state sent with GA4 hits when Google loads your page.
The live test loads your page once from Google’s servers with no clicks and no consent choice. If your tags wait for consent, nothing is sent, which is the correct behaviour. Google’s test can also be at its request limit. Run the audit again after a minute.
A summary with scores, an action plan in priority order, and sheets for installation, GTM tags, triggers, variables, GA4 setup, events and parameters, ads and pixels, consent and live hits. Cells are coloured green, yellow and red.
Fix the red items first, then the yellow ones, publish your container and run the audit again. If you want a specialist to repair your tracking or set up server-side tracking, get in touch.
