What is e-commerce server-side tracking?
E-commerce server-side tracking sends your store’s product, cart, checkout and purchase events to ad platforms from a server you control, usually a server Google Tag Manager container on your own subdomain, instead of relying only on browser pixels. Fewer sales are lost to ad blockers, iOS limits and thank-you page problems.
Which e-commerce platforms do you support?
WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento (Adobe Commerce), BigCommerce, headless and custom stores, plus external checkouts such as Stripe and PayPal.
How does server-side tracking protect my ad budget?
Ad platforms optimise on the purchases they receive. When pixels are blocked, they miss sales, stay in the learning phase longer and keep your CPA high. Server-side tracking sends more of your real purchases, so bidding can find more buyers.
Is server-side tracking worth it for my store?
For most stores spending regularly on Meta, Google or TikTok ads, yes. Use the free tracking loss calculator and server-side ROI estimator to see the likely impact for your spend.
Which hosting do you recommend: Stape, Google Cloud, Taggrs or AWS?
Stape suits most stores: quick to set up, affordable and built for server GTM. Google Cloud Run suits very high traffic, Taggrs suits EU data residency, and AWS or a custom web server suits strict IT rules. I am an official Stape partner and set up all of them.
Will it improve my Event Match Quality on Meta?
Usually yes. Hashed email, phone, name and address from the order, plus external ID and first-party fbp and fbc cookies, give Meta much more to match on.
Can you track Klaviyo server-side?
Yes. Store events can be sent to Klaviyo server-side, so your flows trigger accurately and email revenue matches your store’s real sales.
Does server-side tracking make my store faster?
It can. Moving tracking scripts and duplicate plugin pixels off the storefront and into the server container reduces the code each visitor loads, which can help Core Web Vitals.
How long does an e-commerce server-side setup take?
Most setups take one to two weeks depending on the store platform and number of ad platforms. I do not promise a fixed ROAS change, because results depend on your ads, offer and market.
Is e-commerce server-side tracking GDPR compliant?
It can be when set up correctly. I connect Cookiebot or your consent banner to Consent Mode v2 and every server tag, hash personal data and choose EU hosting where needed.
Do I own the server container and data?
Yes. The GTM containers, hosting account and all data are yours, with documentation and a walkthrough at handover.
Are there free tools to check my store tracking?
Yes. You can use the free product script generator, server-side tracking checker, Meta Pixel checker and 96 free ad calculators, including the tracking loss and server-side ROI calculators.
