A Single Redirect Can Hide Your Ad Conversions. Test Your Landing Page in Seconds
Enter a landing page and this free UTM redirect checker adds test UTM parameters and click IDs such as gclid, fbclid and msclkid, follows every redirect hop by hop, and shows which parameters reach the final page. It also runs a gclid redirect test on the http, www, trailing-slash and uppercase versions of the address, then tells you how to fix the redirect that drops them.
Enter a landing page, with or without parameters. The tool adds test values for the boxes you tick and follows every redirect.
The address is sent to our server, which requests it and follows each redirect. Harmless test values are added for any parameter your address does not already have. We keep a simple log of the address checked and the result. No personal details are saved unless you ask for the report by email.

Redirects are one cause. I audit the whole path from ad click to conversion, and set up server-side tracking and offline conversion imports so click IDs are captured and used.

The address and status code at each hop, and what changed: https, www, trailing slash, path or domain.
Whether each parameter is kept, lost, renamed or has its letter case changed, and at which hop.
Separate tests of the http, www or non-www, trailing-slash and uppercase versions of the address.
Chains of more than one redirect, temporary 302 redirects and redirects that never finish.
Meta refresh tags and script redirects in the final page, which a server test cannot follow.
Example rules for Apache and Nginx, and what to look for in WordPress, Shopify, CDNs and link shorteners.
Three steps, usually under half a minute.
Paste the address you use in your ads. Tick the parameters you want to test.
Our server requests the address with test parameters, follows each redirect, and repeats the test on up to four other versions of the address.
Read the verdict, see the hop where a parameter was dropped, and follow the fix steps.
When someone clicks an ad, the ad platform adds a click ID to your landing page address, such as gclid for Google Ads or fbclid for Meta. You may add UTM parameters too. Your tracking reads them from the address when the page loads. If the address redirects first, for example from http to https or from an old page to a new one, the redirect has to carry the parameters along. Many redirects do not. The visitor still arrives, but the parameters are gone.
https://www address is fine, but the http:// or no-slash version passes through a rule that drops parameters. The part of an address after # is never sent to a server. Browsers keep it across a server redirect unless the redirect sets its own fragment. No server-side test can confirm it, so the tool explains it rather than testing it.
The test request comes from our server, not a real browser. It cannot see JavaScript redirects, cookie-consent walls, app deep links, or parameters that the page’s own scripts remove after loading. It cannot see what a browser does either. Safari, for example, removes some click IDs from links in private browsing and in Mail and Messages. Websites that block automated requests can give the test a different answer from the one real visitors get, and a site may redirect differently by country or device. Use the result as a strong first check, then open the test address in your own browser to confirm.
The parameters this checker can add to your test address.

The tool adds a test gclid and other parameters to your address, requests it from our server and follows each redirect. At every hop it checks whether each parameter is still in the address with the same name and value.
No. They are harmless made-up values, clearly marked as tests. They are only there to see whether the address keeps them. They do not create clicks or conversions in any ad account.
Ads, emails and QR codes do not always use the exact address you expect. The https and www version may be fine while the http or no-slash version goes through a redirect that drops parameters. The tool tests up to four other versions to find that.
This test covers server redirects only. Parameters can also be lost by a JavaScript redirect, a consent banner that reloads the page, a script that cleans the address, or browser privacy features. Open the test address in your own browser and check the address bar, then look at how your tags read and store the click ID.
Change the redirect rule so it passes the query string to the new address. The How to fix tab has examples for Apache and Nginx and tells you what to look for in WordPress redirect plugins, Shopify, CDNs and link shorteners.
No. One redirect that keeps the parameters, such as http to https, is normal. Chains of several redirects are slower and give parameters more chances to be dropped, so point your ads at the final address.
Yes. Enter the short link and the tool follows it to the destination. Many shorteners do not pass on parameters added to the short link, and this test will show that.
Some firewalls and bot protection refuse automated requests and answer with 403 or 429. The tool reports that instead of guessing. Test the address in your own browser in that case.
