Turn a CRM Export Into a File the Ad Platform Will Accept
Drop in a CRM export and this free tool rebuilds it as a Google Ads offline conversion upload template: the time zone row, the right column names and one clean line per conversion. Before that, it checks every row for the mistakes that make an offline conversion import fail, such as a GCLID that was cut off or lower-cased, a date that cannot be read, a conversion older than 90 days, a duplicate or a bad currency code. It also builds the Microsoft Ads offline conversion file.
Add your CRM export, confirm the settings and download a file in the platform’s template format. Everything happens on your device.
No file loaded yet. The example is made-up data with deliberate mistakes, so you can see what the checks catch.
Matched automatically. Change any that are wrong.
Your file is read and checked in your browser. It is not uploaded, stored or emailed. This page has no email form on purpose, because CRM exports hold customer data.
The checks ran on your own device. No click IDs, emails or deal values were sent to mdniamul.com or anywhere else, and nothing is kept after you close the page.
I connect CRMs such as HubSpot and GoHighLevel to Google Ads and Microsoft Ads so offline conversions are sent automatically, with the click ID captured correctly on every form.
It does the tidy-up work between your CRM and the ad platform, and tells you why a row will not work.
Writes the Parameters:TimeZone row and the exact column names of the Google Ads or Microsoft Ads template.
Finds click IDs that are missing, cut off, lower-cased, split by a space or turned into a number by a spreadsheet.
Reads many date formats, converts them to one accepted format and flags dates it cannot read or that are in the future.
Leaves out conversions older than 90 days and warns about ones that are close to the limit.
Removes rows with the same click ID, conversion name and time, which platforms would not count twice.
Strips currency symbols and thousands separators, and checks currency codes against the ISO 4217 list.
Lists every conversion name in the file so you can compare it with your ad account, and spots names that differ only by capitals.
Gives the row number, the problem and the fix for each bad row, on screen and as an Excel file.
Three steps. No account, no upload.
Drop a CSV from your CRM or paste rows from a spreadsheet. It needs a click ID and a date on each row.
Pick the platform and the time zone of your dates. Add a default conversion name if your file has no name column.
Get the ready-to-upload CSV with valid rows only, plus an Excel report of every row that was left out and why.
Many sales do not finish on the website. A lead fills in a form, and the deal is closed days later by phone or in a CRM. An offline conversion upload sends that later result back to the ad platform, together with the click ID that was saved when the person first clicked the ad. The platform can then see which keywords and ads bring real customers, not only form fills.
For Google Ads the click ID is the GCLID. Ads shown on iOS can use gbraid or wbraid instead. For Microsoft Ads it is the MSCLKID.
The file format is strict, and CRM exports are rarely in that format. These are the most common causes:
The first row is Parameters:TimeZone= followed by your time zone. The second row holds the column names Google Click ID, Conversion Name, Conversion Time, Conversion Value and Conversion Currency. Each conversion time is written as yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss, which is one of the formats on Google’s help page.
Google now describes importing by file as a legacy method and recommends Google Ads Data Manager and enhanced conversions for leads. File upload still exists, and a clean, checked file is useful whichever route you take. Always compare the result with the template you download from your own account.
Your file is read by your browser and checked on your device. It is not sent to this website’s server, not stored and not emailed, which is why this page has no “email me the report” form. You can confirm this in your browser’s developer tools: open the Network tab and run the tool.
The rules this tool follows, taken from each platform’s own help pages and templates. Check the current template in your account before a large upload.
| Part of the file | Google Ads (conversions from clicks) | Microsoft Ads (offline conversions) |
|---|---|---|
| Time zone row | Parameters:TimeZone= with a time zone ID such as America/Chicago (recommended by Google) or a GMT offset such as -0500 | Parameters:TimeZone= with a GMT offset in HHMM form, such as -0500 or +0000 |
| Click ID column | Google Click ID. Case sensitive. | Microsoft Click ID |
| Conversion name | Conversion Name. Same spelling and capitals as the conversion action. | Conversion Name. Must match an existing conversion goal. |
| Conversion time | Conversion Time. Several formats are listed, including yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss and MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm:ss. | Conversion Time. Accepted formats are not listed in the template. |
| Value and currency | Conversion Value and Conversion Currency. Both optional. Currency is a 3-letter ISO 4217 code. | Conversion Value and Conversion Currency. Both optional. The goal’s own value and currency are used if empty. |
| Extra columns | Order ID is optional. Enhanced conversions for leads uses a different template. | Hashed Email Address and Hashed Phone Number, which can stay empty. |
| How old can it be? | Google keeps the GCLID for 90 days. | The conversion time must be within the last 90 days. |
| Before the first upload | Wait 4 to 6 hours after creating the conversion action. | Wait two hours after creating the goal. |

Read All ReviewsYes. It is free with no login, and it runs entirely in your browser. Your CRM export is not uploaded, stored or emailed. The page has no email form for that reason.
The first row is Parameters:TimeZone= with your time zone. The next row has the column names Google Click ID, Conversion Name, Conversion Time, Conversion Value and Conversion Currency. Each row after that is one conversion. This tool writes the file in that layout.
Google lists several, including MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm:ss, yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss and versions with a time zone added. This tool converts your dates to yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss and puts the time zone in the Parameters row.
Google says the GCLID is case sensitive, and a real one mixes capital and small letters. If the whole ID is in one case, something changed it after the click, and Google will not be able to match it. The original cannot be recovered.
Google keeps a GCLID for 90 days, so the click must be no more than 90 days old when you upload. The tool leaves out conversions older than 90 days and warns about any older than 80 days. It cannot see the click date itself.
Choose the time zone your CRM used when it exported the dates. If a date already carries its own zone, such as a Z or +01:00 at the end, the tool converts it for you.
Yes. Choose Microsoft Ads and it writes the columns of Microsoft’s offline conversion template with the MSCLKID. The hashed email and phone columns are left empty. Microsoft’s template does not list its accepted date formats, so test with a few rows first.
No tool can promise that. This one checks the format. Google still has to find the click in your account, the conversion action must exist with the same name, and the click must be within the allowed window. Upload about 5 rows first as a test.
No. Enhanced conversions for leads uses a different template with hashed email or phone data. This tool builds the click ID file only and leaves email and phone columns out.
