A responsive search ad (RSA) is the standard text ad in Google Ads. You supply up to 15 headlines of 30 characters and up to 4 descriptions of 90 characters. Google mixes them, shows up to three headlines and two descriptions at a time, and learns which combinations perform best.
It uses proven ad-copy templates and fills them with the details you enter. It does not use AI and it does not know your business, so it is a first draft. Lines that would break the character limit are left out automatically. Read every line, remove anything that is not true for you, and rewrite in your own voice.
No. Google’s Ad Strength is calculated inside Google Ads and is not available outside it. The checklist here covers the same things Google says it looks for: enough headlines, keyword use, variety and unique wording. Use it as a guide, then check Ad Strength when you create the ad.
Google Ads has editorial policies: no excessive capitalisation, no repeated punctuation, no misleading claims, and limits on using trademarks. A “free” or “best” claim must be true and supported on your landing page.
